New Leak Detection System for Yemen's Natural Gas Pipeline
AMEC Spie Capag/HAWK Joint Venture has recently awarded CSE Servelec a subcontract to implement a new Leak Detection System for the Yemen LNG Pipeline Project located in the Republic of Yemen.
As part of the AMEC Group of companies, AMEC Spie Capag is one of the world's leading international pipeline contractors specialising in the delivery of onshore pipelines and facilities such as compression, pumping and metering stations, hydrocarbon storage systems, and water supply and distribution networks.
Hawk International Finance and Construction Company is a Yemeni major general contractor and partner of AMEC Spie Capag
The PipeMan MARTI software suite, developed and implemented in cooperation with Mathematical Institute of Slovak Academy of Science, will be used as a basis of the Leak Detection System. PipeMan MARTI is real-time application relying mainly on physically based mathematical simulators. The Leak Detection System will be fully engineered and will guarantee to perform the functions and performances in accordance with Leak Sensitivity Study.
The new 320km gas pipeline will carry gas from a field close to the town of Marib, 180km east of the Yemeni capital Sana'a, to a Liquefied National Gas (LNG) terminal being built close to Bal Haf in the Gulf of Aden.
The project, valued at €176K, is expected to take approximately 6 months.
