CSE Global (UK) is the parent company of CSE Controls, CSE Healthcare Systems and CSE Servelec.
At its purpose-built works and offices in Sheffield the Company employs over 250 people of which over 200 represent the design and engineering resource making CSE one of the largest independent system integrators of its kind within the UK.
The Company is looking to recruit undergraduates (3rd year Sandwich course students) to undertake their placement year and graduates for permanent appointments.
CSE Healthcare Systems
CSE Healthcare Systems is one of the leading suppliers of electronic patient records systems to the NHS. The company currently specialises in Mental Health and Community Healthcare with its product – RiO.
RiO was first released in 2002 and since 2005 has been the NHS’s strategic solution for the 10 Mental Health and 31 Community Trusts (PCTs) in London. RiO is well regarded by clinicians and other users of which there are 30,000 in London alone. It is supplied the sponsorship of the National Programme for IT.
Key aspects of the work in the Business Group are:
- Developing a complex web based Healthcare application.
- Coding using AJAX, XHTML, Javascript, ASP, Visual Basic, C#, SQL Server and other technologies.
- Providing technical assistance to investigate live issues as raised by the client.
CSE Controls
CSE Controls specialises in the provision of full turnkey solutions for a wide range of industrial control and monitoring applications. Its business is predominantly in the oil & gas and power generation industries, however it also serves clients in the pharmaceutical, food & beverage and transportation and water sectors to name but a few.
Key aspects of the work in this Business Group are:
- Designing industrial control systems (both hardware and software)
- Utilising Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's)
- Utilising Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) software packages
- Working in-house and on clients sites throughout the UK.
CSE Servelec
CSE Servelec specialises in the development of real-time, high availability integrated solutions. This team has extensive specialist technical knowledge of systems integration and software development and has supplied business solutions to organisations such as the Met Office, National Grid UK, Severn Trent Water and the Environment Agency.
Key aspects of the work in this Business Group are:
- Providing software implementation on real time systems using C/C++ and Java.
- Developing user interfaces primarily using Java/JSP and HTML.
- Providing eSCADA solutions using its own proprietary products for efficient asset management and control.
Group Services - Internal Support
Internal Support services all three Business Groups of CSE-Global (UK) Limited.
It assists with software upgrades and hardware management by providing technical support and professional service.

In other words the placement will test your mettle and, if you impress us, reward you with a bursary at the end of your placement and the offer of a graduate position when you complete your degree!

You should have a minimum of 2:1/expected 2:1 and a proven ability to work as part of a team and with a flexible approach and good interpersonal skills.
Benefits
In addition to an excellent training and development experience and great social events, we offer a comprehensive remuneration and benefits package which includes a basic salary of £13,500 per annum for placement students and £22,000 per annum for graduates plus bonus opportunity, contributory pension scheme with life assurance, etc.
